The blower was the first thing to make. This would be the test of my abilities, and how good I am at learning from the web.
This is where we seriously started checking everything by duplicating it in CAD to ensure it would work.
Side plates
Impeller
Motor mounted on the cover. The impeller is just pushed onto the motor shaft.
Housing of the blower made from blocks of wood glued and shaped.

Balancing the impeller was quite tricky. It rattled like mad at first so needed some work to balance it properly.
With the housing clamped to the bench, the motor cam be spun so the flatness of the can be checked and adjusted with a chisel.
The completed balanced blower.
