The keyboard

So far the keyboard has been a plank of plywood. Now starts the process of actually creating the keys.

The plank has been marked out according to the design. The pivot holes have also been drilled while the plank is clamped in situ. This makes sure that the holes in the pivot bar match purfectly with the keys.

The holes in the keys are larger at the top so that the key can pivot. The rotation is controlled by little slotted pieces glued onto each key.

Then all this is done, the plank can be removed and readied for cutting.

The pins can now be seen in the pivot bar.
